Farmhand Makes False Teeth from Stones

Are You Ready To Do Dentistry at Home?

One can’t help but marvel at the brave souls who undertake home dentistry projects. David Kruithoff, a farmhand from Lakeview, Michigan, is a stunning example. He’d lost several teeth, but didn’t want dentures and couldn’t afford implants. So he searched his driveway for stones that looked like teeth, ground them until they fit, and glued them in place.

But it turns out (as Kruithoff discovered) that stones are not good replacement teeth! He eventually switched to a plastic base. He’s been quoted as saying that home dentistry is “a real learn-as-you-go process.” He should know – in addition to replacing his teeth, he also gave himself two root canals without any anesthetic. And, as he hasn’t yet died of starvation or infection, one could argue that his work has been a success…

  1. I am shocked that you would publish an article like this in a emag that is promoting Health. Would you say that a person treating himself for diabetes with twinkies was a success because he hadn’t died yet?

Poor judgement and I assure you old Mr. Kruithoff will continue losing teeth and his overall health will suffer as well.

  2. Ditto!

thoug u say that he is serviving till date i dont think that he is sucessful.bcos he is playing with his oral and general health. though he may not hay any problem (may b due to his higer pain threshhold) he will defenetly land up in biger problem if there any undue forces acting on other oral hard and soft tissue.

i will sugest u not to published such article in health promting site.
only a person who knows detail about oral anotomy physiology patology can make the good quality denture
